Shelf Styling Inspiration from the #LuxeLifeShelfie Competition
Shelf styling is a bit of an art, and often comes down to personal tastes and styles. While a few rules apply to shelf styling, generally it’s creative and is a great way to add character and personality to your home.
The #LuxeLifeShelfie competition encouraged others to share their shelf styling with the world, using the hashtag to be entered into a draw to win £30 to spend with us. The purpose of the competition was to share design inspiration from real homes, providing lots of ideas for others to style their own shelves.
In the interest of sharing that inspiration, here’s just a small selection of the shelfies that were entered…
We love how Rosalie has let her blue kitchen tiles take centre stage here. Keeping her shelf styling simple and minimal, Rosalie has kept to a neutral colour palette that's perfectly paired with that striking aqua blue.
She also shows that practical kitchen storage can be stylish too - with dry foods stored in jars with the addition of a plant for good measure.
Liam was the winner of the #LuxeLifeShelfie competition. He wowed us with his stunning kitchen shelving in light and bright tones. Liam perfectly compliments his mid-grey kitchen units by keeping everything on top light, ideal for traditionally dark and narrow Victorian terrace houses.
We love the pop of colour he's added with flowers and plants, and the addition of wood chopping boards and shelf brackets adds just the right amount of warmth.
We loved both of Anna's entries. Her mantle piece is beautifully styled using a colour palette of green, black and amber and uses pieces of varying heights to add interest. Her shelf has been styled with a monochrome theme, with a pop of greenery with a sprig of eucalyptus.
Allie has well and truly made the most of her beautiful fireplace, ensuring it's the focal point in the room by styling it with tall pieces in rich shades of green and amber-brown. The mirror above adds symmetry, as does Allie's styling which is perfectly balanced. The use of leaves and dried pampas grass helps to add height and drama, as well as adding interest with texture.
As you can see, this collection displays a wonderfully varied sense of style and approach to shelf styling. Which are your favourites and why? Comment and let us know, or direct us to your Instagram to check out your own shelf styling...
